Will edits made in Sift hold up in court?
Sift is designed for a defensible record. The original file is never modified: every edit happens on a working copy, and every change is logged with who made it, what changed, and when. You can show exactly how an exhibit was produced, and every output is reviewed by you before it goes anywhere near a courtroom.
Is Sift CJIS certified?
The FBI does not issue a general “CJIS certification” for software vendors, and we will not pretend otherwise. Criminal justice agencies are audited against CJIS requirements, and Sift is designed to support that review: we can provide security documentation, data-flow explanations, access-control and encryption details, and we will work through the CJIS Security Addendum where an agency requires it.
What happens to the original file?
Nothing. Original evidence is preserved and kept separate from working copies and exports. Normal editing workflows cannot touch it.
Does the AI decide anything about my case?
No. Perry edits video and finds moments in footage. It does not weigh guilt, credibility, charging, or anything else that belongs to a prosecutor. AI output stays reviewable, correctable, and attributable, and it is reviewed by a human before it is used in a case.
Is our evidence used to train AI models?
No. Customer evidence and case data are not used to train public AI models, are not sold, and are not used for advertising. Raw evidence is not sent to uncontrolled general-purpose AI tools.
